OSPA online is an online patent search service from cintelliq, containing patents related to organic semiconductors and organic electronics.
OSPA online is a quick and efficient tool for anyone who needs to conduct searches for patents relating to organic devices such as OLEDs, organic transistors, organic photovoltaics, organic sensors and organic memory.
Step 1: Enter your search terms
You can search for patents by inventor, assignee, patent number, IPC code, title or abstract, publication year, priority year and priority country.
Remember that the database already only contains patents related to organic devices so there is no need to enter specific search terms unless you wish to refine the results
further.
Step 2: Review and sort the search results
By default the patent number, patent title and assignee are listed for each matching patent, however you can choose to also display the publication date, priority year and priority country.
You can also sort the patents by any of the six fields.
Step 3: Click on a patent to view summary information
Click on any of the patents in the search results to view further information on that patent, including IPC classes, inventors and abstract.
Step 4: Access full patent document on espacenet
To access the full patent document on espacenet, just click on the button on a patent's summary page.
What does the database contain?
The patent database used by OSPA online currently contains over 20,000 patents relating to organic devices such as OLEDs, organic transistors, organic photovoltaics, organic sensors and organic memory, The database currently covers the years 2004-2007, with additional patents (up to 2,000) added every quarter.
The OSPA database holds data on patents granted by the US and European patent offices, and on application patents published by the US, European, Japanese and World patent offices.
cintelliq, the organic semiconductor industry expert, has been developing the database since 2004, using its proprietary search methodology. The OSPA online database is unique in that it has already been filtered to contain only relevant patents, and has been cleaned to ensure consistency in naming of assignees, inventors etc.
Why use OSPA online rather than espacenet or other tools?
The OSPA online database is already filtered to only contain relevant patents and already cleaned to standardise names of assignees and inventors. This not only speeds up patent searches compared to using the standard patent search tools such as espacenet, but also reduces the risk of patents being omitted from results because of mis-classification or misspelling.
